.**History**
Since its inception, Divine Reach Education & Counsel (DREC) has become an essential educational and counseling resource dedicated to helping students and families connect with valuable community resources. DREC Inc. began as a local initiative in 2021, providing GED preparation, tutoring, and mentoring services in the South Atlanta community.
Today, DREC remains committed to mentoring students.
**Mission**
DREC's mission is to equip students with the necessary resources and tools they need to thrive in all areas of their educational and behavioral development. We provide educational and behavioral resources to both students and adults, locally and globally.
**Statement of Purpose**
Divine Reach Education & Counsel develops and implements structured mentoring models that connect students, mentors, and community partners to support academic growth, confidence, and long-term success. The organization collaborates with schools and community partners to train and prepare mentors to support elementary-aged students through structured, relationship-based learning experiences. These experiences enhance confidence, engagement, and academic growth, laying a foundation for long-term educational success.
This model reimagines how communities support students by transforming literacy into a gateway for mentorship, connection, and long-term opportunity. Within this approach, literacy serves as a practical and accessible way to engage students in conversation, critical thinking, and real-world application. Through these interactions, students strengthen their communication skills, comprehension, and confidence while building meaningful relationships with their mentors. Mentors conduct structured sessions using consistent tools, guided activities, and clearly defined engagement strategies.
